Hi there!
I’m Ana and I’m deeply in love with architecture and urban development.

I hold a BSc in Math, Physics, and Statistics from University of Toronto and a MSc in Finance from Johns Hopkins University.

Since 2017, I’ve been working in Capital Markets specializing in regulations around OTC derivatives.

Outside of my professional life, I’ve developed strong admiration for architecture. My main area of interest is the intersection of architecture and urban development.

I find it absolutely fascinating that architectural solutions, together with social policies, have the power to create an environment that brings people closer and facilitates community growth. They can also do quite the opposite — form an environment of social isolation and hostility.

Here are three fantastic documentaries that illustrate the above:

The Pruitt-Igoe Myth: one of my favourite subjects is Public Housing. Watch this documentary for a case study that shows the dramatic effect of architecture and social policies on the vulnerable groups of society.

Radiant City: I have a fairly strong stance on the phenomenon of suburbia. This mockumentary (supplemented with commentary from experts in the field) shows how suburban growth negatively impacts people’s lives.

City Dreamers: a lovely documentary about four female architects and their significant contribution to the cities that many of us have been to.

Here you can find my pictures of buildings and here you can say hi!

Fun fact: I designed my logo from this picture I took in Paris.
I stumbled upon this store with my name on it — it was meant to be!
